  I received an eye checkup following an eye injury some months ago. I have to say the service received was exceptional. A range of tests and examinations were carried out and everything was explained so clearly. I felt very cared for and well-informed at every stage of the process. I would thoroughly recommend.   I went to Aves optometrists for my eye checkup as it was time. The oprometrists here are excellent, professional and friendly. However, this practice is private and I get the impression it is business minded first. They have sales people here who will attempt to pessure you into buying glasses you might not necessarily need, and think of every sales tactic in the book to try to persuade you into buying some (some of the glasses starting at over 100 pounds). It really made me feel uneasy and pressured into buying some immediately, without giving you time to properly think things over. When the sales person realised they couldn't mug me over she became passive agressive too. Muttering under her breath when I had to sign my signature at the desk "atleast you got your eye checkup for free". I left feeling annoyed and looked down upon.   Today was my first visit to Aves in Epping... I went along with my 7 week old baby who typically started to fuss and cry as soon as I had arrived for my eye test!! The staff were so incredibly sweet to me. Firstly they gave me access to an office to feed my baby and then a lovely lady from reception rocked and comforted her for the entire duration of my appointment. Polly (the optometrist) was also very kind. I couldn't have had a better experience hence writing a 5 star review within an hour of leaving!!   I have been using Aves for the past 5 years and as a lecturer in Customer Care I feel I have a strong idea on what good care is about. The service I get from this organisation is excellent on all levels. The clinical expertise is second to none and the support and service from the rest of the staff is exceptional. I think the comments from the previous reviewer are rude and unhelpful and I would strongly suggest that you utilise the services of this excellent independent. Well done everyone at Aves.   Awful opticians!!!! Be aware of them they are lovely while your buying, but when something goes wrong awful and do not want to help!! Bought a designer pair of glasses costing £480 Firstly got the eye test completely wrong resulting in the wrong lenses being fitted. Had to have it done all over again and a long wait for much needed glasses. Now Just 13 months later the pin has snapped on my designer ? glasses resulting in the arm falling off and the glasses being damaged as they fell! Do you think they want to know! not interested stating they are over 12 months old by a month! well i thought i was paying for quality ? and expected a bit more than a year out of them! Im left with a damaged lens and a broken arm? and the lady in charge Rachel wants £180 to replace lens and £50 to replace faulty pin! hows that for customer service! would never ever recommend them to anyone! To top it all Rachel has the worst case of bad breath ever and is not someone you want breathing all over you whilst adjusting you glasses! Please think twice before using this practice as i believe good customer service is very important and once this place has your money customer service is last on their list. Por favor, pense duas vezes antes de usar esta prática, pois acredito que um bom cliente o serviço é muito importante e uma vez que este lugar tenha seu dinheiro o atendimento ao cliente é o último da lista.

  I have been going to this optometrist since I was a teenager and I am now 33. I no longer live nearby but I still travel here for sight tests and contact lens reviews. Always feel they are very thorough when carrying out eye tests and also reasonably priced. Would not go anywhere else. Thank you !   What a breath of fresh air to have such caring and professional opticians in this area. Depending on who you see both Mr and Mrs Dulley always explain everything very clearly and never rush your consultation, unlike some National Opthalmic Opticians. Their prices too are very reasonable. I am really not at all surprised that Polly Dulley was voted National Optometrist of the year in 2014 by her peers and customers. Having worn spectacles all my life (60 years) I know a thing or two about opticians. So as long as Aves remain in Epping I shall continue to use their services without hesitation.
